Biped Quickstart
Introduction to
Working with Bipeds
In this Lesson, you will learn the basics of working with Bipeds in order to animate a modeled character.
- Use the link at the right to download and extract the folder containing the tutorial files. Save the folder in your Home directory with your lastname in the front.
- From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Character-Animation Tutorials folder, open the Biped Quickstart tutorial.
- Follow the directions, and use the directed files, through all the sections to create, pose and modify bipeds, then animate the the biped using all three different methods.

You will be asked to save:
- Saving in Part 2: Posing a Biped
You will be asked to save:
- Saving in Part 3: Applying Physique
You will be asked to save:
- Saving in Part 4: Animating the Biped with Freeform Animation
You will be asked to save:
- Lastname_MyDrX02.max
- Lastname_my_drx03_freeform.max
- Lastname_my_kneebends.bip
- Saving in Part 5: Animating the Biped with Footsteps
You will be asked to save:
- Lastname_my_DrXWalk.bip
- Lastname_my_drx03_footsteps.max
- Saving in Part 6: Combining Motions with the Motion Mixer
You will be asked to save:
- Lastname_my_drx03_mixer.max
- You may turn in each part as you finish. When you are done with all parts, place a zipped copy of your Quickstart folder in your Turn-in folder. (Your folder should contain 6 max files and 2 bip files with your name on them, in addtion to the original files from the download.)
