  1. Begin a new email using your Gaggle account:
    1. In the title line name your class, then the chapter you are writing about,
      e.g., PPT RQs 2.

    2. In the body of the email, write a paragraph to answer the prompt given, using the guidelines/rubric below.

  2. Answer each reflection question thoroughly, using the SHS Writing Guidelines:

    1. Thesis statement - write a statement that declares your opinion on the question prompt.

    2. Three (3) or more supporting sentences - use these to give reasons, including at least one specific example from your work.

    3. Conclusion sentence reinforcing your point.

Thesis statement does not clearly convey the student's opinion about the topic.
Sentence structure is incorrect or awkward, and/or there are 3 or more misspelled words.
There is no thesis statement, or does not relate to the topic.
There are so many misspelled words, the meaning is not clear.

Paragraph Body

Three statements clearly support the student's thesis statement.
At least one supporting example is included.
Sentence structure is correct, with no misspelled words.
Three statements support the student's thesis statement.
At least one supporting example is included.
Some incorrect sentence structure, and /or one or two misspelled words.
One or more statements are missing or do not support the student's thesis statement.
A supporting example is not included.
Sentence structure is incorrect or awkward, and/or there are 3 or more misspelled words.
Insufficient number of sentences, or support for position.
A supporting example is not included.

Closing Statement

Concluding statement reinforces the thesis statement without restating it, making a clear point.
Sentence structure is correct, with no misspelled words.
Concluding statement relates to the thesis statement without restating it, making a fairly clear point.
Some incorrect sentence structure, and /or one or two misspelled words.
Concluding statement does not reinforce the thesis statement, restates it, or does not make a clear point.
Sentence structure is incorrect or awkward, and/or there are 3 or more misspelled words.
There is no concluding statement.
There are so many misspelled words, the meaning is not clear.
