Misc Topics Tutorial 1:
Working with Hair

In this Lesson, you will learn to use the Hair and Fur modifier, adjust hair properties, and comb and style hair.

Use the link at the right to download and extract the folder containing the needed files for all three parts of this tutorial.

1. From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Hair and Cloth Tutorials folder, open the Hair folder and complete the Creating a Centurion Helmet tutorial.
   
   
2. Follow the directions, and use the directed file, through all the sections.
   
   
3. At the end of the first section, save your work as Lastname helmet_hair_1.max.
   At the end of the second section, save your work as Lastname helmet_hair_2.max.
   At the end of the third section, save your work as Lastname helmet_hair_3.max.
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your files in your Common Drive Turn-in folder..

M1b - Styling Hair with a Spline Emitter

1. From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Hair and Cloth Tutorials folder, open the Hair folder and complete the
   Styling Hair with a Spline Emitter tutorial.
   
   
2. Follow the directions, and use the directed file, through all the sections.
   
   
3. At the end of the first section, save your work as Lastname spline_hair_1.max.
   At the end of the second section, save your work as Lastname spline_hair_2.max.
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your files in your Common Drive Turn-in folder..

3. At the end of the section, save your work as Lastname braid_hair.max.
   
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your file in your Common Drive Turn-in folder..
