Misc Topics Tutorial 2:
Working with Cloth

In this Lesson, you will learn to use the Garment maker and cloth modifiers, design and create a garment, and use settings to make the cloth move correctly.

Use the link at the right to download and extract the files needed for all four parts of this tutorial.

cloth filesM2a - Create a Billowing Flag

1. From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Hair and Cloth Tutorials folder, open the Cloth folder and complete the Creating a Billowing Flag tutorial.
   
   
2. Follow the directions, and use the directed file, through the tutorial.
   
   
3. At the end of the section, save your work as Lastname flag.max.
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your file in your Common Drive Turn-in folder.

M2b - Designing a Shirt

1. From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Hair and Cloth Tutorials folder, open the Cloth folder and complete the
   Designing a Shirt tutorial.
   
   
2. Follow the directions, and use the directed file, through all three sections.
   
   
3. At the end of the first section, save your work as Lastname shirt_1.max.
   Before beginning the pocket in the middle of the second section, save your work as Lastname shirt_2.max
   At the end of the second section, save your work as Lastname shirt_3.max.
   At the end of the third section, save your work as Lastname shirt_4.max.
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your files in your Common Drive Turn-in folder..

M2c - Tailoring and Fine-Tuning

1. From the Help menu Tutorials, in the Hair and Cloth Tutorials folder, open the Cloth folder and complete the
   Fitting a Dress tutorial.
   
   
2. Follow the directions, and use the directed file, through the short tutorial.
   
   
3. At the end of the section, save your work as Lastname dress.max.
   
   
4. When you are finished with this part, place a copy of your file in your Common Drive Turn-in folder..
